The Seribu Islands Regency administration held a Socialization to Commemorate World Immunization Week 2024 with the theme "Complete Immunization Status for a Healthy Jakarta" on Pramuka Island, Panggang Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands.

Protection for all age groups

Seribu Islands Regent, Junaedi said commemorating world immunization week was attended by hundreds of toddlers who took part in the immunization directly. It is an effort to prepare the next generation who is healthy, intelligent and has a superior civilization.

"Complete immunization certainly provides protection for all age groups because it can play a role in reducing mortality rates and the risk of stunting in children," he expressed, Thursday (5/16).

He urged all parties with the assistance of sub-district and urban village heads to increase the active participation of the community, especially parents, in achieving complete routine immunization status according to schedule for their toddlers

Then intensify immunization programs to achieve eradication and elimination of diseases that can be prevented by immunization (PD3I).

"Hopefully, it can encourage parents to take their toddlers to Posyandu or Puskesmas for free immunization. Also we can all live healthy and strong," he hoped.

The action received appreciation from Jakarta Health Agency Acting Head, Dwi Oktavia.

According to him, immunizations for babies should not be missed or left behind. In 2023, Jakarta has committed to providing complete basic immunization to 180,632 babies aged 0-11 months or 109.08 percent and complete follow-up immunization to 168,832 toddlers aged 18-24 months or 99.75 percent.

"Of course, it requires community support, thus no child is missed. Hopefully, many people in Seribu Islands are aware and believe in the importance and benefits of immunization for family health," he explained.

Seribu Islands Health Sub-agency Head, Murniasih Hutapea added immunization is a priority program for primary health services that continues to be improved. In Seribu Islands, its coverage has reached 25.73 percent or 548 toddlers, and follow-up immunization for 377 toddlers or 26.53 percent.

To enliven the commemoration of World Immunization Week in Seribu Islands, a talk show was also held with the theme "The Importance of Completing Immunization Status for a Strong Indonesia" organized by PT Kalventis by presenting speakers from the Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI).

"Thank you to the parties and sponsors who have helped the successful implementation of this activity. Hopefully, this immunization will reach its target and final destination," she finished.
